School Community and Parents
At Belvidere we believe firmly in the partnership between home and school. We believe your child’s education is a shared responsibility and we try hard to involve you as much as possible by keeping you informed about your child’s progress and making you feel welcome in the school.
Newsletters are sent out regularly and, for younger children, it is a good idea to check their book bag each day. These letters are also available to read online via our website, and we regularly send texts to remind parents of events or to deliver urgent messages. You will also be invited in to school regularly, for consultation evenings, open afternoons, special assemblies and services, productions and many other events. We also welcome parents and other friends of the school who are willing to help on a voluntary basis in a variety of ways, such as assisting in the classrooms or with clubs, or accompanying school trips. There are times when families feel they need additional support from the school, and we will always do whatever we can to help.
Teachers are normally available to talk to parents on most days. A written report is sent to parents at the end of the school year. A mid-year report also goes out prior to the Spring Consultation. Regular weekly newsletters are sent out to parents by the Headteacher. All Newsletters are published on our website.
Friends of Belvidere Primary School (The FOBS)
We have a newly formed Friends of Belvidere Primary School. These form an important part of school life and already have raised a great amount of money for our school. There are regular events held throughout the year. Since September 2010 they organised/supported our:
- Christmas Fair
- School Discos
- Summer Fair
- Film Evening
All parents are welcome to join our friends, please contact the school for further details.

We will empower our children to become respected citizens to enable them to make valuable contributions locally, globally and to contribute to our world's sustainable future.
This can be done most effectively when all staff, parents and children understand their responsibilities and work together towards the same goals, as detailed in our home/school agreement.
