It has been a joy to welcome the children back to Belvidere Primary after the summer break. Their smiling faces and positive attitude have made our first week back a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I have been most impressed in the manner that our new starters have begun the academic year. It can be incredibly nerve-wracking arriving at a new school for the first time. However, they have all taken it in their stride and their families should feel really proud of how well they have settled in.

We have lots of exciting things planned over the Autumn Term - I think it is going to be another great year!

Year 6 Residential Trip to Arthog – A Fantastic Start to the Year!

We are thrilled to share that the Year 6 residential trip to Arthog Outdoor Activity Centre was a huge success! In fact we have already booked the experience for September 2025!

Over the course of four days and three nights, our pupils demonstrated outstanding enthusiasm, resilience, and teamwork while taking part in a wide range of exciting activities including rock climbing, canoeing, orienteering, team challenges, and my personal favourite – gorge walking.

It was truly heartwarming to see the children supporting one another, building confidence, and embracing new experiences with such positivity. The Arthog staff and instructors were full of praise for our pupils, especially noting their exceptional manners and behaviour throughout the trip.

Beyond the fun and adventure, the trip provided a valuable opportunity for our children to develop important life skills and strengthen friendships. It has given them a fantastic platform from which to launch their final year at Belvidere Primary School, and we’re confident it’s an experience they will remember and cherish forever – especially as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

We look forward to sharing some of the wonderful photos with you all next week!

A huge thank you to Mrs Duncan and Miss Roberts for organising and taking such great care of our children during the trip. We are incredibly proud of how well the children represented our school.

Arbor Balances

Please can we remind parents that Arbor balances are kept up to date.

We truly value the flexibility we currently offer, allowing families to pay in arrears. However, if outstanding balances are not cleared promptly, we may be left with no choice but to move to a pre-payment system, as many other schools have already done.

We understand that times are challenging, and we are more than happy to discuss payment plans or offer support where needed. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office in confidence if you require assistance.

Healthcare / Medical Conditions

Healthcare plans forms will be sent out to all those children who we are aware of a medical condition.

Please can we ask that these forms are completed and returned as soon as possible once received so we can update our records accordingly.

If your child no longer has a medical condition, please let the office know by emailing admin@belvidere-pri.shropshire.sch.uk

First Aid Messages

If your child has required first aid in school, we will send a message on Arbor to report the accident and any treatment (if required) given by 3.30pm.

Should we feel that a telephone call is required/more appropriate, then instead of an Arbor message, we will contact you to talk to you.

Breakfast & Afterschool Club

The booking form for this term is closed.

If you require places, please contact the office to see if there is availablity.

We have a number of accounts that remain outstanding. Please ensure accounts are settled in full (exception to this is those that use the tax free childcare account for wraparound care).

A reminder, our Breakfast Club runs from 7.30am - 8.30am (Monday - Thursday) and 7.00am - 8.30am (Friday)

Children can be dropped off between 7.30am and 7.45am (Monday - Thursday) and 7.00am - 7.45am (Friday) by coming to the office and ringing the bell.

Afterschool Club runs from 3.15pm - 5.30pm (Monday - Thursday) 3.15pm - 5.00pm (Friday)

To collect your child from afterschool club, please can parents/carers come to Reception and ring the bell on the wall and your child/ren will be brought to you.

Children are to come into school in their PE kit on the day that they are going to an afterschool sports club.

Christmas Theatre Visits

You will have received a letter via Arbor regarding your child's visit to this years pantomime Dick Whittington.

To confirm your child's place, please 'top-up' your Arbor account under the Dick Whittington heading with the correct amount.

Payment needs to be made no later than Friday 19th September.

Reception children and children in Little Bells will be having their own trip to the Theatre - more details to follow!

PACC’s Healthy Lives Holiday Programme

We have been asked to share the following information from PACC;

PACC’s Healthy Lives Holiday Programme is now in its 4th year! Healthy Lives offers a variety of activities to support physical and mental wellbeing, providing children and young people with SEND in Shropshire with opportunities to create new friendships, catch up with friends, try new activities and be active. This year we have an increased offer running through all school holidays.

Please note a Parent Carer or PA will need to attend sessions.

Easter and School Half-Terms (Shropshire Term dates) - Activity sessions for 8-14 year old's and 14-25 years old's.

Summer- Activity sessions for 8-14 year old's and 14-25 years old's, all- age family activities, increased offer for children and young people with complex needs.

Nut free School

A reminder that we are a nut free school. We have children with severe allergies so we ask that nut products are not brought in lunch boxes or for snacks.
