Good Afternoon Parents & Guardians

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week.

Today has been a much calmer Friday than last week, but I must say how lovely it was to see so many families and friends enjoying our very first Colour Run. The children’s smiling faces said it all! Thankfully, the weather was on our side—just imagine if it had been 24 hours later!

Cricket England Workshops
On Monday, our KS2 classes took part in a Cricket England workshop. These sessions will continue every Monday until half term. It was fantastic to see the children developing their skills under the guidance of such talented coaches.

Bowling Club Visit
On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of visiting the Bowling Club at Shrewsbury Sports Village. Sixteen children, accompanied by family members, enjoyed a taster session in the sport. They returned to school full of enthusiasm, sharing how much they had enjoyed the experience. Well done to everyone involved—trying something new is always a great achievement!

Football Fixture at Wilfred Owen School
Thursday marked our first football fixture of the year. Our boys played brilliantly, showing great teamwork and support for one another. It was a joy to see them represent the school so well and finishing in a very credible third position.

Phonics Workshop
Thank you to all parents and carers who attended our phonics workshop this week. If you weren’t able to join us, please keep an eye out for the information packs being sent home. These contain helpful tips on how to support your child’s reading journey. As with all skills, practice is key. Setting aside time each day and showing your child how much you value reading can make a big difference—there are no shortcuts to success!

KS2 Reading Workshop

Unfortunately, we had to postpone our KS2 Reading Workshop due to low attendance, with only six families initially indicating they could join. To ensure more families have the opportunity to benefit from this valuable session, we are rescheduling the workshop for Thursday 16th October.

There will be two time slots available: 3:30pm and 5:30pm, which you can select by following the link below. Sign-ups will be available from today.

We strongly encourage you to attend and make the most of this opportunity to learn how best to support your child’s reading journey.

 Arbor Balances Reminder
As we approach our financial review in early October, please ensure that all meal and club payments are up to date on Arbor. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

A Note on Communication
We’ve recently had a few incidents where parents have contacted other families directly—via phone or social media—regarding school matters. While we understand that concerns can arise, we kindly ask that you contact the school directly if you feel something may have been missed or not communicated. This allows us to investigate appropriately and ensure that all parties are supported.

Contacting other families without going through the correct communication channels can lead to unnecessary worry or stress. We pride ourselves on maintaining clear and open lines of communication with parents and carers, and we appreciate your continued support with this.

Thank you for your understanding in this sensitive matter.

Wishing you all a restful weekend.

Warm regards,
Mr G. Jones

Belvidere Stars of the Week

A huge well done to our Stars of the Week!

Arbor Balances

Please can we remind parents that Arbor balances are kept up to date.

We truly value the flexibility we currently offer, allowing families to pay in arrears. However, if outstanding balances are not cleared promptly, we may be left with no choice but to move to a pre-payment system, as many other schools have already done.

We understand that times are challenging, and we are more than happy to discuss payment plans or offer support where needed. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office in confidence if you require assistance.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Headlice

We have some 'unwanted' visitors in school.

Please can we ask that you check your children's hair and treat if necessary

Healthcare / Medical Conditions - Reminder

Healthcare plan forms have been sent home to those children who we are aware of a medical condition.

Please can we ask that these forms are completed and returned no later than Monday 29th September once received so we can update our records accordingly.

Thank you to those that have already returned them.

If your child no longer has a medical condition, please let the office know by emailing admin@belvidere-pri.shropshire.sch.uk
