Belvidere Primary School

Dear Parents and Carers,
As we reach the end of another busy half term, we have had another week of fantastic experiences  which our pupils have thoroughly enjoyed.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to the 42 children from Years 5 and 6 who successfully completed their Level 2 Bikeability course. The instructors were full of praise for the children, commenting on how well behaved and responsible they were throughout their training. It was also wonderful to see our bike shed bursting with bikes each day and noticeably fewer cars at drop off and collection times. With the warmer weather upon us, it would be fantastic if this could continue – a great way to stay active and support our environment.
On Wednesday, our Year 3 pupils enjoyed a memorable trip to Oswestry Hillfort, followed by a visit to Park Hall Farm where they explored what an Iron Age roundhouse would have looked like. Both Mrs Heath and Mrs Kennard reported what a joy it was to take the class out, praising their excellent behaviour and the way they represented our school. Experiences like these really help to bring learning to life, and it was clear how much the children gained from seeing history first-hand.
Looking ahead to after half term, we have several exciting History trips planned. Year 5 will visit Battlefield, Year 6 will explore the Flaxmill, and Year 4 will be heading to Wroxeter. Meanwhile, our Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils will be returning to RAF Cosford following the success of last year’s visit. These opportunities are always invaluable in enriching the curriculum and creating lasting memories.
On Thursday, our archery superstars travelled to the Sports Village to take part in the County Games Final, proudly representing the Shrewsbury area. The team performed brilliantly, finishing in a very respectable 4th place, and, most importantly, had a fantastic day. We are very proud of their effort, teamwork, and sporting spirit.
With only one half term of the school year remaining, here are some important dates for your diary:
9.6.26 – Sports Afternoon (gates open at 1:00pm, first race at 1:15pm)
17.6.26 – Little Bells and Reception visit to Park Hall Farm
26.6.26 – Summer Fair and Belvidere 50th Birthday Celebrations + Notification of next Year's classes to familes
6.7.26 – Belvidere Transition Afternoon
10.7.26 – School reports sent home
13.7.26 – Belvidere Transition Morning
14.7.26 – KS1 and KS2 trip to Chester Zoo
17.7.26 – Last day of term (collection at 1:30pm from classes or 3:15pm as usual)
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 1st June.
Warm regards,
Mr G. Jones

Jewellery

Please can we remind parents that children who have their ears pierced should only be wearing studs to school.

No other jewellery should be worn in school.

Arbor Balances

Please can we remind parents that Arbor balances are kept up to date.

We truly value the flexibility we currently offer, allowing families to pay in arrears. However, if outstanding balances are not cleared promptly, we may be left with no choice but to move to a pre-payment system, as many other schools have already done.

We understand that times are challenging, and we are more than happy to discuss payment plans or offer support where needed. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office in confidence if you require assistance.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
