Belvidere Primary School

Good Afternoon Parents & Guardians

It was truly wonderful to see so many of you at our Harvest Festival performance on Tuesday. Our Belvidere children never cease to amaze me with their enthusiasm and love for performing. Your generous donations to the food bank were incredibly kind and will make a real difference—thank you.
A special thank you goes to Tesco for providing the beautiful harvest loaf, to Mrs Williams and Miss Sequeira for their tireless preparation of the songs, and to Mrs Duncan for coordinating all the moving parts to create such a memorable event. It was a real masterpiece!
Sporting Highlights
On Monday evening, our Year 6 boys’ football team competed at the Sports Village. Despite being in a tough group, the boys showed great determination, especially in their final match where they fought hard to earn a point against Oxon. We talk a lot about resilience in school, and it was fantastic to see that value in action—well done, boys!
On Wednesday, our girls’ football team travelled to Prestfelde for a tournament against two very strong teams. Although the results didn’t go our way, I firmly believe that playing against strong opponents is how we grow and improve. Keep going girls—you’re on the right path!
Performance Club Concert – A Celebration of Talent
Today, our Performance Club treated us to a truly magnificent concert, showcasing the incredible musical talents of our pupils. Over the past six weeks, the children have worked with dedication and enthusiasm to prepare for this event, and their hard work certainly paid off. It was a joy to welcome parents into school to share in this celebration of creativity and confidence. A huge well done to all of the performers, and heartfelt thanks to Miss Sequeira for organising such a memorable occasion.
Reading Workshops & Parent’s Evening
Thank you to everyone who attended our KS2 reading workshops on Thursday. It was lovely to see such engagement. For those who couldn’t make it, the presentation will be sent out next week so you can view it at your convenience.
Next week is also our Parent’s Evenings. If you haven’t yet signed up for a slot, please do so to hear about your child’s progress. Children’s books will be available to browse in the hall before your appointment. Please help us keep to the 10-minute time slots to avoid delays.
Halloween Disco & End of Half Term
A reminder that Thursday 23rd October is the last day of the half term and also our Halloween Disco. Children are welcome to come to school in costume, but we kindly ask that no props of a violent nature are brought in to ensure all children feel safe and comfortable.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend,
Mr G. Jones
Headteacher

Arbor Balances

Please can we remind parents that Arbor balances are kept up to date.

We truly value the flexibility we currently offer, allowing families to pay in arrears. However, if outstanding balances are not cleared promptly, we may be left with no choice but to move to a pre-payment system, as many other schools have already done.

We understand that times are challenging, and we are more than happy to discuss payment plans or offer support where needed. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office in confidence if you require assistance.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Headlice

We have some 'unwanted' visitors in school.

Please can we ask that you check your children's hair and treat if necessary
