Good Afternoon Parents & Guardians

We’ve had another busy and exciting week here at Belvidere, full of memorable moments and wonderful achievements across the school.

On Tuesday, our Year 5/6 football team took part in a competition involving several schools from the Telford area. Our boys put in a fantastic performance throughout the tournament and finished second overall – a brilliant achievement and one they should be incredibly proud of.

Sport at Belvidere continues to go from strength to strength. With a growing range of competitive, participation-based and inclusive fixtures already planned for the summer term, we are delighted that so many pupils will have the chance to represent the school in a variety of sporting activities.

A highlight of the week was the Pinocchio dance workshop led by West End in Schools. Every class took part in this energetic and engaging masterclass and, at the end of the day, each group performed their section of the story to the rest of the school. It was wonderful to see the tale come to life through movement, and especially heartening to watch pupils—some of whom had been more reluctant in dance previously—immerse themselves fully and discover the joy of participation. It was a powerful reminder that, with many things, the more you put in, the more you get out.

A huge thank you to the Friends of Belvidere for funding this experience for the whole school. It truly was a special day for everyone.

* Violin and Keyboard Concert – Tuesday morning at 9:30am *
(Families of children who play these instruments are warmly invited)

* Recorder Concert – After school on Thursday *

* ‘Greatest Showman’ Performance – Friday, presented by our Performance Club * (Open to family and friends)

* Red Nose Day – Friday *
Pupils are encouraged to wear red or dress as a Winnie the Pooh character as we celebrate 100 years of the beloved stories.

Headlice

We’ve recently had a few cases of head lice in school.

Please can we ask to take a moment to check your child’s hair and treat if needed.

Regular checks help us prevent them from spreading.

Jewellery

Please can we remind parents that children who have their ears pierced should only be wearing studs to school.

No other jewellery should be worn in school.

Arbor Balances

Please can we remind parents that Arbor balances are kept up to date.

We truly value the flexibility we currently offer, allowing families to pay in arrears. However, if outstanding balances are not cleared promptly, we may be left with no choice but to move to a pre-payment system, as many other schools have already done.

We understand that times are challenging, and we are more than happy to discuss payment plans or offer support where needed. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office in confidence if you require assistance.

Red Nose Day 2026

We will be supporting Red Nose Day this year on Friday 20th March.

Children are invited to come into school dressed in red or anything to do with Winnie the Pooh for a minimum donation of a £1

First Aid Messages

If your child has required first aid in school, we will send a message on Arbor to report the accident and any treatment (if required) given by 3.30pm.

Should we feel that a telephone call is required/more appropriate, then instead of an Arbor message, we will contact you to talk to you.

Breakfast & Afterschool Club

The booking form for next term is now available.

Please complete and return to admin@belvidere-pri.shropshire.sch.uk no later than Monday 23rd March 2026.

Please ensure accounts are settled in full as soon as possible and no later than Friday 20th March (exception to this is those that use the tax free childcare account for wraparound care). Places are not guaranteed if there are outstanding balances.

A reminder, our Breakfast Club runs from 7.30am - 8.30am (Monday - Thursday) and 7.00am - 8.30am (Friday)

Children can be dropped off between 7.30am and 7.45am (Monday - Thursday) and 7.00am - 7.45am (Friday) by coming to the office and ringing the bell.

Afterschool Club runs from 3.15pm - 5.30pm (Monday - Thursday) 3.15pm - 5.00pm (Friday)

To collect your child from afterschool club, please can parents/carers come to Reception and ring the bell on the wall and your child/ren will be brought to you.

PACC’s Healthy Lives Holiday Programme

We have been asked to share the following information from PACC;

PACC’s Healthy Lives Holiday Programme is now in its 4th year! Healthy Lives offers a variety of activities to support physical and mental wellbeing, providing children and young people with SEND in Shropshire with opportunities to create new friendships, catch up with friends, try new activities and be active. This year we have an increased offer running through all school holidays.

Please note a Parent Carer or PA will need to attend sessions.

Easter and School Half-Terms (Shropshire Term dates) - Activity sessions for 8-14 year old's and 14-25 years old's.

Summer- Activity sessions for 8-14 year old's and 14-25 years old's, all- age family activities, increased offer for children and young people with complex needs.

Nut free School

A reminder that we are a nut free school. We have children with severe allergies so we ask that nut products are not brought in lunch boxes or for snacks.
