Good Afternoon Parents & Guardians

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week—it’s hard to believe we’ve already reached Friday!

It’s been a sport-filled week here at Belvidere! On Monday, our Year 3, 4, 5, and 6 girls took part in a football fixture at Hadley Learning Community. This event was kindly organised by one of our Governors, Mrs Balchin, who also runs our after-school football club on Mondays.

Our Year 3 and 4 team played sensationally well against tough opponents, securing a 5–2 victory. Molly scored a brilliant hat-trick, Georgia finished off a fantastic team effort, and—believe it or not—our goalkeeper, Madeline, added the final goal!

The Year 5 and 6 girls followed with an incredible 13–2 win, with goals flying in from all directions. The team played with great spirit and were a real pleasure to take out for the afternoon. A huge thank you to HLC for hosting and for the use of their minibus—it was greatly appreciated.

On Thursday, we had two more teams in action:

Another Year 5 and 6 girls’ football team competed at Wilfred Owen School.

The girls played 4 games, winning 3 and drawing 1 to get to the final where they played amazingly well and were successful in returning to school as Champions!

Well done to all the girls that took part.

A Year 5 Dodgeball team took part in an event hosted by our neighbours at Crowmoor.

The children had a great time!

Both teams represented Belvidere fantastically well. Thank you to all the pupils who took part and to the staff who supported them.

Looking Ahead:

On Monday morning, the children will be visiting Shrewsbury Baptist Church in Crowmoor for a final rehearsal ahead of our Harvest Festival Performance.

As part of the church’s support for the Shrewsbury Food Bank, we kindly ask that—if possible—you send your child in with a non-perishable food donation. These contributions will be added to our Harvest Loaf, which is being generously baked by Tesco and will be taken down to the church.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us celebrate and give back during this special time of year.

Tuesday at 1:30pm: The Harvest performance takes place at the church. Children may be collected directly from the venue afterwards—please inform the school office if you plan to do so, so we can update our class lists accordingly.

One ticket has been allocated per family and these have been sent home tonight to those that have requested them. If any additional tickets are available, these will be sent home on Monday.

Thursday: We are holding two Reading Workshops for parents of Years 3–6 pupils:

It’s not too late to sign up via the Arbor link. These sessions are a great opportunity to learn how to support your child’s reading journey.

Parent Consultation Appointments are now live on Arbor and will take place on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd October.

School Photographs - 15th October

On Wednesday, Tempest will be coming into school to take this years individual and sibling school photos.

Please can we ask that all children come to school in school uniform and not PE kits.

Parents' Evening

Parents' Evening will take place on Tuesday 21st (3.30pm - 6.30pm) and Wednesday 22nd October (3.30pm - 7.00pm)

For Oak Class, Miss Howard will be available on Tuesday 21st and Mrs Williams on Wednesday 22nd.

Please book your appointment via Arbor

The booking system will close on Sunday 19th October at 6.00pm.

We kindly request, where possible, parents attend on their own without their child/ren.

Jewellery

Please can we remind parents that children who have their ears pierced should only be wearing studs to school.

No other jewellery should be worn in school.

Arbor Balances

Please can we remind parents that Arbor balances are kept up to date.

We truly value the flexibility we currently offer, allowing families to pay in arrears. However, if outstanding balances are not cleared promptly, we may be left with no choice but to move to a pre-payment system, as many other schools have already done.

We understand that times are challenging, and we are more than happy to discuss payment plans or offer support where needed. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office in confidence if you require assistance.

Please can we ask that you check your children's hair and treat if necessary

Secondary Application deadline – 31 October 2025

The closing date for secondary applications is 31 October 2025 which falls in the half-term holidays. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to submit an application as soon as possible but before the deadline date. This will ensure that if you encounter any problems, you can be supported/helped and to submit your application on time. There is no grace period for late applications. First Aid Messages

If your child has required first aid in school, we will send a message on Arbor to report the accident and any treatment (if required) given by 3.30pm.

Should we feel that a telephone call is required/more appropriate, then instead of an Arbor message, we will contact you to talk to you.

Breakfast & Afterschool Club

The booking form for this term is closed.

If you require places, please contact the office to see if there is availablity.

We have a number of accounts that remain outstanding. Please ensure accounts are settled in full (exception to this is those that use the tax free childcare account for wraparound care).

A reminder, our Breakfast Club runs from 7.30am - 8.30am (Monday - Thursday) and 7.00am - 8.30am (Friday)

Children can be dropped off between 7.30am and 7.45am (Monday - Thursday) and 7.00am - 7.45am (Friday) by coming to the office and ringing the bell.

Afterschool Club runs from 3.15pm - 5.30pm (Monday - Thursday) 3.15pm - 5.00pm (Friday)

To collect your child from afterschool club, please can parents/carers come to Reception and ring the bell on the wall and your child/ren will be brought to you.

PACC’s Healthy Lives Holiday Programme

We have been asked to share the following information from PACC;

PACC’s Healthy Lives Holiday Programme is now in its 4th year! Healthy Lives offers a variety of activities to support physical and mental wellbeing, providing children and young people with SEND in Shropshire with opportunities to create new friendships, catch up with friends, try new activities and be active. This year we have an increased offer running through all school holidays.

Please note a Parent Carer or PA will need to attend sessions.

Easter and School Half-Terms (Shropshire Term dates) - Activity sessions for 8-14 year old's and 14-25 years old's.

Summer- Activity sessions for 8-14 year old's and 14-25 years old's, all- age family activities, increased offer for children and young people with complex needs.

Nut free School

A reminder that we are a nut free school. We have children with severe allergies so we ask that nut products are not brought in lunch boxes or for snacks.
